Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Delta Reign officially releases on November 6, 2026, bringing Mega Rayquaza ex back to the Pokémon Trading Card Game alongside a new lineup of Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rares, and more.

When Does Pokémon Delta Reign Release?

The official Pokémon Delta Reign release date is November 6, 2026.

That gives collectors a little time to prepare before one of the most anticipated Pokémon TCG releases of the year hits shelves.

Mega Rayquaza is an extremely popular Pokémon among collectors, so we expect plenty of attention around Delta Reign as we get closer to launch—especially as additional cards and Special Illustration Rares are revealed.

Mega Rayquaza ex Returns to the Pokémon TCG

The biggest attraction in Mega Evolution—Delta Reign is easy to identify: Mega Rayquaza ex.

Mega Rayquaza returns to the Pokémon TCG for the first time since the XY—Ancient Origins era, making Delta Reign particularly interesting for longtime collectors who remember the Mega Evolution cards of the XY era.

Mega Rayquaza ex won't be alone.

The expansion is also confirmed to feature:

• Mega Rayquaza ex

• Mega Golurk ex

• Mega Malamar ex

• Mega Golisopod ex

With Mega Rayquaza serving as the headline Pokémon, there is plenty of potential for Delta Reign to become a highly collectible set.

How Many Cards Are in Pokémon Delta Reign?

The Pokémon Company has confirmed that Mega Evolution—Delta Reign will contain more than 135 cards.

The expansion will also include more than 20 Trainer cards and more than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards featuring special illustrations.

Among the announced rarities are:

• 14 Illustration Rare Pokémon

• 17 Ultra Rare Pokémon and Trainer cards

• 6 Special Illustration Rare Pokémon and Supporter cards

That should give collectors plenty to chase beyond just Mega Rayquaza ex.

Legendary Stadiums Are Coming to Delta Reign

Delta Reign is also introducing an interesting new element to the Pokémon TCG: Legendary Stadiums.

These Stadiums are made from two separate cards that combine to create an extended illustration.

For collectors, that could make complete Legendary Stadium pairs particularly fun binder pieces. Pokémon has also indicated that when a booster pack contains a Legendary Stadium, both halves of that Stadium will appear together.

It's a small detail, but exactly the kind of feature that can give a Pokémon set its own identity.

Will Delta Reign Be a Good Set for Collectors?

It's too early to know where Delta Reign card prices will settle after release, and we always recommend being cautious about paying inflated prerelease prices for individual cards.

What we can say is that the ingredients are certainly there for an exciting collector-focused set.

Mega Rayquaza is the headline Pokémon. Multiple Mega Evolution Pokémon ex are confirmed. There are more than 35 cards featuring special illustrations, including Illustration Rares and Special Illustration Rares.

That's a pretty strong starting point.

As we've seen with virtually every modern Pokémon release, however, early hype doesn't necessarily tell us where singles prices will land once more product is opened.

If you're primarily a singles collector, patience can often pay off.

Should You Buy Delta Reign Singles at Launch?
